 All Anyone who uses their garbage service. Anyone in the County can use their garbage service. April 1st - Nov 30th pickup period. $5/month drive-by fee, plus $2 per bag sticker fee. 874-8431

The above haulers are licensed by the County Health Department and have indicated that they will pick up yard waste.
Composting Facilities

Their is a composting facility on the Illinois/Wisconsin border that will accept yard waste all season long for a one time $15 permit. Information is included below:

Leaflan

Located at 6711 West St. Lawrence Road in Beloit, Leaflan collects nearly 50 tons of yard trimmings for each April and May. The center accepts grass, leaves, pine needles, garden growth, brush, and branches on larger than 4 inches in diameter and 4 inches in length. Leaflan charges $15 for a permit for access for the season. Anyone interested may buy compost from their garden at a normal fee.

Through Sept. 30 drop off hours are: Mondays, 9-11a.m.; Wednesdays, 3:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fall hours will be extended to accept the fall yard waste and leaves.

Rock River Valley Compost

Located at 6200 Baxter Road in Cherry Valley, IL. This facility accepts grass, leaves, and branches on larger than 6 inches in diameter and 4 feet. Rock River Valley Compost charges 2.5 cents a pound with a minimum $10.00 charge (up to 400 lbs). You may haul in garbage cans, biodegradable bags, in the back of your own truck. No plastic bags please.

Anyone interested may buy compost from them at a penny a pound.

Hours are: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
